According to EAM S Jaishankar, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi asked India to expand trade turnover and declared that present income was insufficient.
Jaishankar spoke at the India-Egypt Business Forum “I had the privilege of speaking with the President. A specific point to billion dollars in trade turnover was mentioned by our two colleagues. Sisi, the presidency, told me he didn’t believe it was sufficient. So, he advised us to look for ways to raise it.” Jaishankar added that concentrating on the obstacles is one method to grow a firm.
“See what the problems with market access we both had been? Examine the potential for investments that might either result in production effects for other areas and third-world nations or even by-back prosperity “Jaishankar spoke at the gathering.
Jaishankar stated the following in reference to the wheat arrangement that was reached between India and Egypt: “Egypt is purchasing wheat from India for the first time in a while, if not ever, this year. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a challenging year for agriculture weather, so we were unable to continue with some valuable large initial supply.”
Jaishankar added that there is a lesson that Egypt can learn from purchasing from India since it reduces the risk associated with its food supply, which was formerly extremely dependent on a small geographic area.
Jaishankar discussed India’s commitment to the success of COP27 under the Egyptian administration during his conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi today. He is now on a two-day official visit to Egypt for the first time.
Egypt’s participation in the G20 while India’s chairmanship of the group is valued, the country’s minister of external affairs Jaishankar said. He further emphasised that India is entirely committed to the success of COP27, which is being presided over by Egypt.
Jaishankar tweeted that he was “honoured to call on President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt,” adding that he was in Egypt for two days. The Egyptian President received pleasantries from Prime Minister Narendra Modi through Jaishankar, who also gave him a handwritten note.
The EAM was extremely grateful for President Sisi’s advice in furthering the numerous facets of the Egypt-India relationship. The President was updated by Minister Jaishankar on his conversations with Finance Minister Sameh Shoukry.
“India and Egypt participate in the international debate as independent-minded countries. Additionally, advance the causes of peace, growth, and progress “Jaishankar tweeted.
On Saturday, Jaishankar stated that he will discuss working with Egypt to establish prestigious higher education institutions like the Indian Institute of Technology with Union Minister for Education, Skill, and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan (IIT).
