The inaugural commenced with the lighting up of the lamp by Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma and Justice Surya Kant.
iTV Network on November 25, inaugurated the Legally Speaking Lecture Series on Constitution Day. The series was inaugurated by Justice Surya Kant today.
The conclave’s objective is to invite thought leaders, eminent judges, intellectuals, and parliamentarians to talk about Constitution Day, which is celebrated on November 26th.
The inaugural commenced with the lighting up of the lamp by Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma and Justice Surya Kant.
Addressing the august gathering, Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma remarked that the Legally speaking was started 6-years-ago and it has exponentially expanded.
Speaking at the lecture series, Justice Surya Kant said, “General idea of Constitutional morality is to uphold values, and a constitution cannot be aspirational, it cannot be oblivious to the changes of the world.”
“We are driven by self-sufficiency, traditional values, and progressive values can’t be in conflict,” he added.
Justice Surya Kant elucidated ‘Law and media are part of the same mosaic and are fundamental to a healthy society.’
The purpose of this conclave is to provide the best legal editorial law reports, legal policy updates, law firm news, and the most recent court updates.
Legally Speaking is the first news show in history to interview a sitting Supreme Court Judge, Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri. It is the first television broadcast to include three serving US Supreme Court Justices (Justices Matthew F. Cooper, Tod Eddins, and Sabrina Mc Kenna)
The show also won the ENBA Award for Best Show in the Legal Category (Gold Award).
