The judicial custody of Sahil Gahlot and five other accused in the Nikki Yadav murder case, including his father and two cousins, was extended for two weeks on Monday by a Dwarka court in Delhi.

Sahil was arrested on February 14 after being accused of murdering his live-in partner Yadav and stuffing her body into a fridge. Other suspects were later apprehended by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police and taken into custody. After completing their judicial custody, the accused were produced in Dwarka court today.

The judicial custody of Gahlot and the other accused was extended until March 20 by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Samiksha Gupta.

The court also allowed co-accused Ashish and Lokesh’s families to meet them in the courtroom.
Advocate Anirudh Yadav, counsel for accused Lokesh, filed an application for the marking of the case diary, expressing concern about manipulation in the case diary.

On March 13, the court will hear this application.
After seven days in police custody, the court sentenced Sahil Gahlot to 12 days in judicial custody on February 22.

After an interrogation, Delhi Police arrested Sahil’s father, two cousins, Ashish and Naveen, and two friends, Amar and Lokesh.

During his interrogation, Sahil told the police that the deceased had asked him not to marry another girl because they (Sahil and deceased) had already married in the year 2020. She was his wife, not a live-in companion.

As a result, she was pleading with him not to proceed with the marriage planned by his family with another girl on February 10, 2023, according to police.

They then devised the plot and planned to get rid of the deceased, according to police.
As a result, Sahil carried out the plan and murdered her, informing the other co-accused persons on the same day, February 10, 2023, and all of them proceeding with the marriage ceremony.
